These are a number of short stories about love, taking place in a city that not only I don’t know, but had a bit of an aversion for to start with, because of its past. I totally fell for it though. The stories are in turn surreal, funny, gripping, heart-wrenching... None of them left me insensitive, much of it thanks to an amazing cast. I also like how the fact that many directors (one per story) translated into many different styles. Some will inevitably speak to you more than others, but I couldn’t find one that I thought didn’t work. Walk away if you’re looking for a long flick with a single storyline though, or you will be disappointed as another reviewer here was. This is a bit of a patchwork, but one that works beautifully in my opinion.
  • Just Watch The Trailer

The best part of this movie was the trailer, and it is the only thing I can recommend watching. The movie is comprised of several independent shorts that lack a cohesion or anything poignant. I actually very much enjoyed the cinematography - it was shot beautifully. But good camerawork can only go so far, and ultimately the story came up short despite a fantastic cast. Maybe worth a watch at a bargain price, but certainly not full admission price.
