Description

Inspired by true events, "Winchester" is set on an isolated stretch of land outside of San Francisco where there sits the world’s most haunted house. Seven stories tall with hundreds of rooms, the house has been under construction for decades. But heiress Sarah Winchester (Helen Mirren) is not building for herself, for her niece (Sarah Snook), or for the troubled doctor (Jason Clarke) she has summoned. She is building it as an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts.

Completely unbelievable and shallow storyline, mediocre acting and dialogue, and not scary. But I’ve seen worse.

Reminds me of my psycho alcoholic mother screaming through my Ring camera to shu off trespassers. “I’m not crazy”, haha ok.

Great movie. For those of us who live in California and know the history of Sarah Winchester, this movie is true to form with added cinematic ghostly flair. And yes, it is commonly know that Sarah Winchester was haunted by the violence and devastation her husbands Winchester guns wreaked on generations during and after the civil war. She was driven by an insane belief that the ghosts of those who were killed by this Winchester weapon were with her and needed to be released to find peace in the afterworld. Sad but true story.
  • What's This About?

This would have been better if it focused more on the house, and even by it's title it didn't even remain faithful to that, I really wanted to like this, being a fan of the place, really beautiful but, it didn't even really mention how brutal the locale is- being a very hot environment, especially back in the day without air-conditioners, this is someone else fantasy!
