Description

In the near future, a time of artificial intelligence: 86-year-old Marjorie (veteran actress Lois Smith, TWISTER, TRUE BLOOD, DEAD MAN WALKING)—a jumble of disparate, fading memories—has a handsome new companion (Jon Hamm, MAD MEN, BABY DRIVER) who looks like her deceased husband and is programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given the chance? Also starring Academy Award® winners Geena Davis (THELMA & LOUISE) and Tim Robbins (THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, MYSTIC RIVER), MARJORIE PRIME is based on Jordan Harrison’s Pulitzer-nominated play, exploring memory and identity, love and loss.

FANTASTIC. Such a simple movie that makes you think about things differently. Bravo!

I haven't finished the movie, but I decided to write a review anyway. This movie is hard to watch for me. Too real, too emothional. Does it scare that one day we will all be old and alone?I can relate to the daughter Tess. We tend to blame our parents for whatever doesn't work out for us. Tess resents herself and her mother, (for whatever reason they way she was brought up). I do not like the way she treats her mother Marjorie the minute the movie starts. Tess thinks she is taking care of her mother and tries to be in charge of Marjorie's life. Tess resents the relationship between Marjorie and Walter Prime. Just leave the poor old lady alone and let her have some fun. Whatever she has done to you as a mother is in the past. Have some empathy. I can tell Tess could also be struggling her relationship with her won daughter. The kindness of Jon warms my heart.

Yeah, this is a great cast - Lois Smith is incredible, and a really interesting take on who we are as humans surrounded with all this technology. Rented it, watched it then bought it. I never do that. Lois Smith gives the best performance I've seen in a long time.
