Description

It's a classic case of opposite attraction: Handsome Ben Bennet (Ethan Sharrett) is a gay, affluent, stylish attorney at the top of the genteel social set in southern Virginia, while Lee Darcy (Chase Conner) is a rough-hewn welder with a secret that he nightly tries to blot out with an excess of liquor. When Lee is wrongly accused of domestic abuse, he overhears a derogatory comment made about him in court by Ben. Soon after, the men inadvertently come face to face and, surprisingly, find common ground when hiking with a group of friends in the gorgeous nearby wooded ridges. A quiet friendship slowly forms that is complicated when Ben discovers that he has a secret of his own - he has fallen in love with Lee. Byrum Geisler's cinematically gorgeous directorial debut is a modern day variation on Jane Austen's classic novel "Pride & Prejudice," re-imagined as a heartfelt, deeply satisfying gay romance.

This quiet little movie was absolutely beautiful! A movie about ALL kinds of love without falling into the trap of the cliched, requisite gay sex scene. The genuine emotions of the many ups and downs of love really put a lump in my throat. I am definitely buying this and making it part of my permanent collection. Thanks to the very talented cast and crew for such a gift!

The musical score, the breathtaking scenery, the nuances in the actors expressions, and the story all blend nicely to create a subtle beauty that will captivate your heart.

Being an outdoor person; hiking, exploring, canoeing, etc., what's not to like about this wonderful, well-done film (and the story-line and acting, too)? What better place to fall in love than on some high, inland promontory embraced by the deeply variegated colors of Autumn (a cuuple of old memories escaped my eyes and run down my cheeks on that one)... Also very impressed re. the credits given to the people and various agencies who helped make the movie possible. Yeah, Virginia!!! Watch the movie, you won't regret it, trust me...!

A beautifully shot movie and a clever update to a classic. It takes its time on pacing and touches on some dark themes, but has a lot of love. I only wish it was a little longer, so I could see more of how everything resolves for everyone!
