It started out good but pretty soon it gets worse and worse. Should have known. Eli Roth has great ideas but poor execution. Don’t waste your time. I had to force myself to finish the movie.

Good acting, good dialogue, great effects and decent plot. Creepy and worth adding to a horror collection.

I just caught this as well on Netflix. This was WAY better than the low ratings given by Rotten Tomatoes. The acting was not exactly stellar, especially not from the mother’s character, played by Laura Allen, but I am hard pressed to find anything else in the movie that I didn’t like. Except for one minor scene, there is absolutely zero CGI used here; all effects are done with costume, make-up, and props. In a world full of movies loaded with formulaic and awkward computer special effects, having tangible, well-crafted set pieces that don’t distract from immersion is most welcome. The horror aspects of the film, which, again, tie into the reliance on tangible special effects, were excellent, especially the dead bodies. You could FEEL the presence of the transformation and the hunger for flesh. Moreover, the artwork (which was excellent in its own right) that was used as a backdrop to the story matched well with the representation of the clown itself: the clown in his final form looked exactly like the drawn pictures. This is one tight little horror flick that defies the ratings. Ninety minutes well spent if you appreciate this genre.

I loved this film! It was thrilling, spooky, and fun! Great story, and very bloody, perfect for your Halloween movie marathons!

Found this on Netflix and put it on just as background noise but immediately found myself hooked. The story is pretty good, kinda reminds me of the old goosebumps book "the haunted mask" but way more intense. Definitely worth watching

First time ever I stopped the movie before it ended. Extremely bad movie. Not dark, but sick.
