Description

Liam Neeson, Felicity Jones, and Sigourney Weaver star in this visually spectacular and stunningly emotional drama. Young Conor's life takes a turn after his mother (Felicity Jones) becomes ill and he moves in with his unsympathetic grandmother (Sigourney Weaver). As an escape, Conor turns to his artwork and conjures up a 40-foot-high monster (voiced by Liam Neeson) who becomes a most unlikely ally by guiding him on a journey of courage, faith and truth that powerfully fuses imagination and reality.

This is was just unbelievable. The art is awesome. The characters are awesome. Everything about it is awesome. Except the bullies, the mom having cancer, and the grandma. But besides that it is unbelievable. Amazing plot. The actors were picked correctly. Watch it and be bewildered.

This sad but liberating movie feels like an absolute adventure and saddening story at the same time. I read the book awhile ago, and came here expecting to be let down (as most iterations of things i hold dear to me do). But half-way through i stopped and thought to myself: “Yep. This is perfect.” A MUST WATCH if you love dramatic stories

As a single mom to a young boy this truly speaks to me. Hold your child close. Love the moments you have, don't take a second for granted. No matter what you, as a parent will leave. Your legacy is your child. What a touching heart felt tale without the typical cinematic additives of making it too much. I loved it. Bring your tissues... I also thought the fact that Liam Nelson, who was the voice of the tree, was also the father of Lizzie was a great touch. Truly great movie

I like movies almost all genres but fantasy is one of my favorites... my wife, on the other hand, is almost strictly a romcom fan with only the occasional movie from "deeper" genres tickling her fancy. This was one of them. Our daughter also liked it very much. The subject matter is a bit heavy to call this a family pleaser but my 7 year old has been exposed to many movie/theater experiences that would typically be outside the norm to children her age so she took to this movie well. It really is a nice mix of fantasy and real world, heavy, subject matter.

Terrible movie, don't waste your time, could have been a okay movie if "the monster" wasn't in it.
