When I saw Green Day perform "Basket Case" on David Letterman, I'd just finished practicing with my band and knew I had to change my life, and my band, so I did. That was 23 years ago. My band didn't make it big like Green Day, and I'm a suburban dad now. I connected with this movie on so many levels. I think the coolest thing is that Billie Joe did a project like this, and could so successfully nail it in his performance. The script was sweet, too. Overall a really nice, small, truthful movie about where life takes you, and being OK with it.

This is not an amazing moive, but i enjoyed it. Billie Joe gave a good first lead performance, and I feel he only has room to grow as an actor. The cast was a perfect fit for the movie and i was thourghly entertained. However, i do feel the writing of scrpit and plot left a little to be desired. Will watch again!

I loved this movie. Even as nerdy as they made Billie Joe look, he will always be hot. Will watch it over and over.

I loved this movie, and I think that everyone did an awesome job in it but I just need to say that there wasn't one scene with Fred Armisen in it where I didn't want to punch his lights out. Aside from that, I loved it!

I've always been a fan of Green Day & Billie Joe but this movie wasn't as great as the previews hyped it up to be. It starts with the movie being set in 95 with Perry & his bandmates playing a gig, and jumps 20 years later to him being married and having 2 kids. There was no on-screen chemistry between him or Selma Blair. And the rest was boring it showed him running around chasing garbage men who didn't take his bottles, then it showed him at a guitar shop, and being late for work to the hardware store that he worked at with his brother. His brother gave him $1,000 to celebrate his birthday so he rented a room with the money and he went home to let in his in-laws and went back to his party where he ran into his ex and there was a split second of a Joan Jett cameo. His guests trashed the room he got arrested and was blamed for it so one of the cops in his dad's group got him out of it and got him to his daughter's talent show on time. There's not much else to say

This is a movie that many who hit age 40 can relate to. Looking back at all you had and feeling as if your life has become ordinary. Billie Joe Armstrong does a great job in this role and if you love his music it features some fantastic songs too!
