Description

A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of James’ sister who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.

When this movie was first released, everyone was talking about it as we were told it was a true story! Hmmm. IMHO, it must be really difficult to make a good horror movie as there are so few of them. I don’t recall any gore whatsoever which makes this a cut above many others— albeit a small one. If a very jumpy camera will annoy you or if you’re prone to migraines, play keep away. The camera drove me bonkers. If you want to get scared, go rent something from Alfred Hitchcock. I’d recommend Vertigo, The Man Who Knew Too Much, North By Northwest, Rear Window, The Birds. Psycho is violent but Sir Alfred holds back on gore except one disturbing scene. He didn’t need it. And better yet– have a Hitchcock Fest! Oh yeah. Skip Blair Witch!

It helped expand the Blair Witch story, and really helped defined the domain and power she has over the woods. The acting is well done. I think it’s really underrated and should have gotten another film to break down what happens at the end of this one.

So disappointing. Was hoping for something to actually answer questions since it’s actually connected to the first one but that didn’t happen. It tried to be scarier but you never SAW anything. I understand them trying to be creepy and mysterious by keeping some things out of sight but you never saw any of the scary stuff.

I should probably say that I'm biased to any kind of horror/thriller that takes place in the woods. I absolutely loved the original. I'm not sure it can be beat. However, if you go into this movie without the intent to compare the two, and simply just watch the movie, I *think* you'll be suprisingly pleased. I wouldn't buy it for $9.99 tho. There's definitely other options other than iTunes.
  • Grade C movie

If you are into looking up someone's nose and seeing the snot drip out, this is the film for you. The story is weak, largely revolving around idiots with a camera running around in the woods and being scared by a twisted-together wad of sticks and straw. Meh.
  • Finally the Blair Witch worth watching

I thought the first Blair Witch fell short. A huge build up for a quick ending which led to a big disappointment. This Blair Witch movie does not disappoint. Great build up to a long and suspenseful ending! Well done! Thank you for making the movie that should have been done right the first time!
