Description

Donnie Yen ignites the screen in a return to his iconic role of Ip Man, the real-life Wing Chun Kung Fu master who mentored Bruce Lee. In this explosive third installment of the blockbuster martial arts series, when a band of brutal gangsters led by a crooked property developer (Mike Tyson) make a play to take over the city, Master Ip is forced to take a stand. Fists will fly as some of the most incredible fight scenes ever filmed, choreographed by the legendary Yuen Woo Ping (THE MATRIX, KILL BILL), play out on the big screen in this soon-to-be classic of the genre.

  • BS sequel to two great films

The first film was fantastic and the second was pretty good. They were both based on a true story. The third movie is nothing more than taking the same character and slapping together a make-believe story.
  • A low level installment

The first two.... Excellence in every way. This one? Not so much. Fight scenes were well choreographed, but that's about the end of the positives.

I was also disappointed by the English dubbing, but found there is the original language track available. I believe I had to stop / restart the movie for it to take effect, but please try playing with the language settings to find a more satisfactory experience. It very much makes the movie to not hear the English dubbing and I wish it would not have been the default
  • The worst of the IP man movies

By far the worst and least authentic of the IP movies, only good aspect is the surprisingly good presence of M. Tyson.

been watching martial arts movies for 40 years, including the great Bruce Lee set. Loved the use of different camera angles in the fight scenes and the fact that the scenes were more realistic, it was about the actual fighting style rather than showing some actor hanging on a cable. Voice dub was fine, i did not have any problems with it (....not perfect, but the translation rarely ever is, in this type of movie, again, i've seen them for 40 years, there are many other movies with worse dubs).
  • Full Of Cliche's

This time, our hero must battle multiple thugs, a "foreign devil" (for 3 minutes), and a wannabe master, all while his wife is dying. The fight scences are shot in such a way that you do not get a true perspective of any skill or power, only speed. Nothing new or interesting.

This third film is nothing like the first two. Yes there is a lot of action fighting scenes however the storyline and me character buildup just isn't there. They make Ip man more of a celebrity superhero it was all off. I'm more of a kung-fu purest loving the shaw brothers originals and this one isn't up to par. Worth watching only one time but that's about it, don't buy.
  • Not worth watching

Poor Donnie Yen,whoever wrote this movie really killed the IpMan trilogy,Mike Tyson was horrendous in this movie, this movie just had no meaning,it dragged for so long until the last fight which was hilarious. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. Its way too boring.
