  • Perfect movie with an imperfect family

I enjoy this movie every year. It’s not the standard perfect holiday movie. It’s honest in its depiction of what families often are, imperfect. I appreciate this.

I really wanted to love this movie especially since it’s politics offended so many people. It has a great cast. There was no connection with any of the characters so it was hard to believe the story lines. The movie seemed so busy with trying to make its points that the points were missed. Diane Keaton is one of my favorites. She had no chemistry with John Goodman. It was like the opposite of a cheesy Hallmark movie. It was dark and depressing. The only thing I liked was the dog. The dog was adorable but even then they didn’t dive into his character. I didn’t feel connected to any of them. I didn’t laugh at any of the jokes. I wish I bought it on dvd so that I could wrap it up and regift it. Get it out of my house. Now it will live forever in my iTunes library.

This movie is horrible. It’s slow, depressing and so negative. I would have given it 0 stars if I could.

Ignore the politics. This is how families are. Sad. Loving. Annoyed at each other but in the end-together.
  • A waste of a great cast

So promising...and a great cast, but they didn’t have a good enough script to work with. The story didn’t flow and was simply not strong enough. Unfortunate because it had the potential to be a Modern classic like ‘Love Actually’ but failed epically. I give it 3 stars for the actors/actresses.

There is nothing redeemable about this movie. Tough issues handled in a clumsy, disjointed script that not even Diane Keaton could save. It is drivel.

What a charming and delightful movie! Perhaps there are a few gaps in believability, but overall I greatly enjoyed it. I may be a bit older than the naysayers here, so maybe the negative reviews are generational, but I loved it. A very sweet movie. I think you will be glad you saw it.

Oh my god this was the most boring movie. It made no sense what so ever. I had to shut it off half way through!
