  • Amazing transport of game to movie - RPG to RPM

I’m a big fan of games adapted into movies. They create characters that are super-powered to protect their vulnerability. The moment I saw that Rupert Friend was playing Hitman, I immediately purchased and so glad I did. His portrayal of the character was perfect in that he was super-powerful, highly intelligent and an extremely skilled assassin, but can see a glimmer of vulnerability buried underneath all that robotic nature. You become transported into his character almost like a role playing game. This movie is action-packed and very technical. From Rupert’s quick fighting speed, to reloading his guns and awesome-looking gadgets, this movie will knock you off your seats with its speed and action sequences. Loved it! Enjoying the Extras behind the scenes as well!

Between the two films that now exist, this is the good one. I won’t say this is the best film ever made, because it’s not. I will, however, tell you that it’s not an SJW, feminist, make-way for the new whamon protagonist. Which these days is all you really need to know. Yes, I know, the quality of films and media entertainment in general, has fallen that much that in order to be good all any film needs to do is not push SJW, or third wave feminist propaganda in it. But not to worry, even devoid of those terrible, terrible things Hitman 2007 is still a good film. Not the best, as I mentioned at the beginning, but still a good film that will keep you entertained -especially for a video game film, which are notorious for failing to stay true to the source material. Part of the reason this film is not as great as it could have been. All in all, I would recommend this film, and only the 2007 film. I have watched the film multiple times, I still enjoy it.

I just like it, the thing is that the people that rent this type of movie, must love the unreal, otherwise you will not like it.

The problem with making a Hitman movie is the games never provided much backstory to who 47 is. So, it's up to the writers to try and give the iconic figure a story. What they came up with is not bad, but definitely lacking some imagination. I didn't understand casting Friend until I saw him in Homeland, his character there transfers very well to his interpretation of 47 but the way he is directed to be somewhat funny doesn't translate well. All in all give it a try. Locations are amazing and it's a pretty fun ride

Ouch. Fans of the game stay well clear. Atrocious cliches and plot holes the size of dinner plates abound here. I mean it’s a action movie (a true take on the game would actually be drama, rather than action) so I can suspend my sense of reality for some stuff, like physics and the like - but you can’ do so in such an atrocious fashion. The Matrix series felt more realistic than this movie did. Only silver lining I can say is that I rented, rather than bought this one.
