The writing is as intelligent as Aaron Sorkin at his best, and the filmmaking is reminiscent of Tarantino's finest work. Its timely subject matter and clever plot makes the audience think without being patronizing, while artfully weaving a love story into its political tapestry. The actors deliver superbly flawless and realistic performances. A MUST-SEE A+ piece of art!

I saw this short at a festival and have been looking for it since. The conceit is clever and the performances are spot-on. I recommend it.

Watch Diplomacy and you get to see a funny, thought-provoking film, support an independent film maker, and gawk at True Blood's Michelle Forbes. What more could you ask for?

This film grabbed me from the start. A very clever way to mesh two story lines in one. One of the best shorts I've ever seen!

How does a director and screenwriter manage to develop engaging characters, delve deeply into touchy world politics, and even make us laugh ( or gasp ) in 9 minutes? I don't know, but this short film does it all.
  • Brilliant short. Easily worth the 3 bucks.

Just watched this short a third time and was blown away. So rare you see a short that sticks a fork in something real. An idea that you've thought of or felt, but never had a close enough look to classify. It's fiction but it doesn't feel like it. From concept to performance to cinematic execution, a stand out piece. From a writer-director who's stock is sure to rise. Deceptively simple. Extraordinarily substantive. Six or seven thumbs up. If nothing else, for showing us something we haven't seen before.
  • By far the best short film I've seen this year!

This will be the best 3 bucks you've spent this year. What a beautiful, clever little movie. Shots are gorgeous, acting is superb, direction is flawless. I hope director Jon Goldman continues to produce great films like this one.

A great short film, like a great short story, grabs you from the moment it begins and doesn't let go until long after it's over - leaving you wishing for more! This is one of those films!
  • Punches well above its weight...

Great, compact little film. Hoping that it could be developed into a feature film!

I don't think I've ever seen a short film about a political topic. Kind of amazing. Usually shorts are just small character sketches or quirky ideas. This little movie, in just a few lines of dialogue, manages to comment on global politics and fit in a love story and make me laugh. Good work. I also love that famous actors get involved in short film projects. So fun to have all these great people on screen together. Also, beautiful cinematography.
