We chose to watch this film because of Tom Hanks and Julie Roberts. What could go wrong? One of the worst films I have had to endure. Contrived, weak, corny, predictable and just bad. I'm trying to figure out how to get my $4.99 back.

All I can say is, this is a career low for both Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. This movie tried to be a likeable rom-com, but in the end just failed. It's just a really bad movie. 1/5
  • Viewers, please do not listen to the critics!

Time and time again, the critics have given a movie that happens to be great a bad review. Remember viewers, the critics are individuals who give their own opinion on a movie... this is one person who thinks a movie is bad when it's good, and sometimes think that it's good when it's bad. Just like I think that this movie is great, uplifting and motivating. We all have our own opinions, so please viewers, don't let a "critic" decide for you what film to watch! Make your own call... the critics are just trying to keep their jobs by getting attention! Anyway, this film has a strong influence on me and my wife, and we can relate to it in many ways. It's given us hope in life... inspired by the characters portrayed by the actors... who, I may say did a very excellent job! Despite what the world is going through right now wether it's a bad relationship with two people, a bad economy or a person who is down on his luck, this film (and it's music) will help you realize that it doesnt have to be as bad as it seems. "When you feel your hert is breaking, when you get sick of trying, hold on tight to your dreams" - ELO... "Felt so good like anything was possible" - Tom Petty. Great uplifting and "sunny" feel good movies like this are what people could use during these hard times we are all having... and more films such as this one that gives authenticity and genuiness to its characters and story should be out there more along with the multitudes of other films filled with violence, profanity and sex. Well done Mr. Hanks and thank you! This film has already changed my life... and made better french toast!

I loved this movie. Julia Roberts still amazing as usual. Her smile can light up the darkest rooms.

My wife and I found ourselves busting out in laughter at several points during this charming film. Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts have created mature, nuanced characters that show us the unsung heroism of facing midlife's challenges with a sense of humor and optimism. That plus seeing George Takei (Mr. Sulu of Star Trek) as a community college Econ prof is very funny. We say disregard the low score from Rotten Tomatoes and treat yourself to one of the too rare films you will walk away from with a huge smile, and thinking "we should buy that!"

This might not be Oscar quality, but it's a really good movie. Going into every movie expecting it to be BLOW YOU AWAY AMAZING must be a very lonely way to watch movies.

A dose of reality hard to take? Afraid to see the real world of unemployment? Get over it – and enjoy the depth of the humor of life. Thats what the writer achieved. And the actors excelled at it. A hard lesson! And a sweet love story. You're kidding if you don't get it!

Whatever happened to the $4.99 specials? Is itunes not doing that anymore? If not, I'm done with it. Oh yeah, this movie really blows chow. It's vapid and condescending.

I thought the movie was pretty good. Not Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks at their best, but still a good movie. Worth checking out. I didn't go into the movie with any expectations as I try and do for most if not all films I watch. If you go into this movie or any with high expectations, you leave a lot of room to be disappointed depending on how good your expecting the movie to be. Just sit back, and enjoy the movie. After all, isn't the whole point of a movie to be entertained?

I dont go to movies often but I saw this twice in theatres and it was amazing. It was worth the money and time. I feel like any adult can relate to this, especially in these economical times.
