Description

Anyone who says that money is the root of all evil, doesn't have it. Welcome to the new American Dream. Eager to show his aloof father that he can succeed in life, an ambitious, intelligent college dropout takes a job at a small stock brokerage firm, where he meets with great success. But when he learns that the company is selling worthless securities to gullible buyers, he realizes the cost of his ambitions--and how deeply embroiled he has become in the scam.

If you liked The Wolf of Wall Street you’ll live this flick. The preview does this move no justice.

This movie is great. Essential watch if you’ve ever worked a sales job. Glad I saw it on sale.

Very well written scripts, but the twist isn’t very surprising

Well, I’m not an NY’er but the humor and decency of the main character show through at so many different points in the film I can hear his anxiety over his actions, Ben Affleck, for his two minutes of screen time was great, Vin Diesel was his usual awesome self, sans superhero and Nia Long was the beautiful jewel, the true symbol of conquest. Seth’s decency almost got him the prize. All in all, totally worth watching. I’m not an NY’er but these characters, plus or minus the accents and suites could be ant group of young men and women out to find themselves in a crazy and confused world , As Seth said, it was easier in poker hie got to look his victims in the eye, All in all a fun movie.

Obviously a Hollywood exaggerated version of a scamming banking firm story but definitely interesting and learned a bit more about the stock brokering business as well.
  • Excellent and under-rated movie~

Had never hear of the movie but it is great. Most of the cast is unknown, at least to me, and that adds to the realism.

If you didn't grow up in this era you just wouldn't understand this movie the cast was a who's who of current stars. This had movie amped ever upcoming sales and gave motivation.

Boring, everything in the moving is shown in the trailer. The story line is slow and predictive. This movie is not worth your money!
  • Glengarry Glen Ross

This movie is basically a shallow Entourage-style rip-off of Glengarry Glen Ross. All the most interesting and seemingly unique elements of Boiler Room are stolen; the remainder of the content consists of stereotypical situations, familiar conflicts, (throw a Ferrari in there), etc. Rent both if you're interested in seeing the correlations.
