Again, I can't believe I vouched for this and others that came before it. As predicatable, overly dramatic, and draggish as they continuously come. Look at what Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard are being reduced to. Them and select few others. The attitude-based evidence of infidelity is right in front of Dunbar and Strickland's characters' faces and yet they don't catch it. It especially takes Dunbar really long to notice how immature and cruel Andrea (Lathan) is being. There has to be more to William Cartwright (Hauser) than a philanderer seeking a hand-me-down. Same can be said sbout Andrea's sister (Henson), than just being the foil to lascivious Andrea. What about Abigail Dexter (Givens)? Just there for show, if you ask me. And as always, the good are so very good and the bad are so very bad. Such elementary school thinking!!! Even the road trip taken by Bates and Woodard is a complete sleeper--just killing time. No energy, no brief nostalgic moments, no "I wanted to do that all my life" moments, NOTHING. Even films like Bobby, Crash, Wonderland (UK film) and 25th Hour are more subtle, and show more [initial] awareness (of self and others), than this. Check this one out if and all you want to. But, consider this: We are all so dazzled by the outside that we miss the inside. To you-know-where with skin color and other absurd things, PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE. Period.

I saw the movie today for the second time. It was as good as the first time. The acting was solid. The same emotions that came up the first time I saw it came up again. Tyler does a good job of hitting on topics of fidelity, faith, concern for others, and many others. With the overwhelming volume of movies about wanton sex and violence, it's nice to watch a movie that gets us thinking about these character oriented themes.
