Description

More graphically-realistic than ever The Blob has returned in this horrific tale about a vile, malignant life-form that crashes to earth in a cozy, rural American town called Arborville. Untroubled by conscience or intellect, the Blob does only one thing and does it well. It eats anything and everything that moves...men, women, children. And tonight it wants to swallow Arborville whole. The original version of The Blob thrilled and terrified audiences back in the 50's. Now the oozing, gooey killer is back with a new high-tech 80's look. What was once only suggested now comes to life in this visually gut-wrenching thriller in the tradition of such classic remakes as "The Thing" and "The Fly".

Great creature and special effects for the time it was made. Very entertaining. Definitely worth seeing.

Gotta admire the time and dedication it took to make this movie as macabre and disgusting as possible. They just pour it on you full-strength. Not for those with light constitutions.

This was good but I think the original was better. Steve McQueen first movie! When I saw the original as a kid I couldn’t sleep for a week! Knowing the Blob could creep under my bedroom door!

This was a triumph of practical effects over CGI and the perfect example of an 80's horror flick. This was a pretty gory film for the time, worthy enough to compete against The Thing (1982). One of my favorite horror movies ever.

SUPERB! Boy was that movie funny! My family friend baptized "the old man with a funky hand" as a man that turned into a pizza! Lol. No matter what whether funny or horror it was a SUPERB movie to watch as it was as good as I saw it the first time to me it's still a sizzling movie to watch. I'm thinking of purchasing this movie, though I've seen it a thousand time. But this movie was a SUPERB movie worth every penny a movie that you have to see to believe. Great job! :)

I typically despise remakes of any movie, and the few remakes I do like, I can count on fewer fingers than I have on one hand. This movie is one of those very few. The movie doesn't exactly retell every part of the classic Blob story, but instead has a few of it's own originalities woven into it, like the army of scientists in spacesuits trying to conceal the truth about the Blob, the sewer chase and some others. There are also some new characters like Flagg the town rebel, and Meg Penny, the hot and feisty cheerleader who teams up with Flagg to battle the Blob and save the town. There are other characters to add to the drama as well, but what I liked most about the movie was that it was made in the 80s. The movie has the big hair, the eerie synth, and that fun icky gore that you'd see in some 80s horror flicks like Nightmare on Elm Street or something. It's a fun package wrapped up in a pink and purple neon sheen. it's a fun movie esp for 80s fans, and worth a watch on a late night.
