  • The only poetic Marvel movie

This is one of the most beautiful action films ever made. One of the only science fiction films in which cosmic beings hold hands, make love, debate the ethical merits of life itself. There are moments of sheer beauty here which are absent from nearly all other modern blockbusters. It seems like a lot of people are upset that this is not another cookie cutter collection of fight scenes where cities get smashed up (and just as many seem to simply be mad that they had to see gay characters). Personally I applaud Marvel for taking this chance on an arthouse director who actually brought a unique vision. Don't get me wrong, it's not Tarkovsky, but it's as close as any of these movies are likely to get to that kind of contemplative sci-fi.

My wife and I watched this movie with the same excitement as all the other marvel films. But we never had fun watching it like the others. For us it seemed very boring which is a bummer with so much potential movements in the right direction I think they dropped the ball when it comes to actually making a fun film.

This movie got terrible reviews. I don’t get it. Was a good movie. Not the best marvel movie but not half as bad as people say.
  • Yikes, it’s bad.

Definitely the worst marvel movie. Just a really bad story, terrible writing, and bad acting… probably the directors fault. Glad I didn’t buy this one.
  • The ends?

Until Falcon and Winter Soldier went asininely woke, Marvel had a pretty good run that ended in the flawed but fulfilling Endgame. Beginning with Black Widow, Marvel has gone downhill. This movie was made by someone who clearly doesn’t do CGI action films, as the fights are incredibly poorly done and Ikarus’ flying is stupidly and unrealistically smooth. The acting was good, but Sersi and Ikarus were two crybaby whiners I could care less about, and the overall execution of the story (not the story itself) was bad. The characters were enjoyable, but the tone was self indulgently pompous. And so Marvel’s decline accelerates to this day…

To be short and sweet, this movie was pretty lame and I do not plan to watch again. The producers and director changed the orientation of a character for no reason other than politics. Acting was sub-par with some plot issues. Pass on this.
