Down in the darkest alleys, there is a killer on the loose. Preying on the city’s women, this killer is as precise as he is cruel. As Police Commissioner James Gordon tries to calm the fears of Gotham’s citizens over the butcher named Jack the Ripper, the masked vigilante Batman does some detective work of his own, with the help of the sultry and surefooted Selina Kyle. i read comics but not a lot of batman and didn't read this one (at least yet). my fiance does and he liked the comic better than the movie but only because of the ending. i really liked the movie, particularly because of the ending. i found it to be nice and fresh. one of the reasons i don't read a lot of them because there's so much, literally over 50 yrs worth, and this was never done before ever. some people will like it and of course others will complain "it's not the same." all i can really say is it is a nice twist that has never been done and just accept that this is different and change can be a good thing, as much as we're programmed not to.

If you love Batman In general you will adore this film. This film is not for children, just be warned. But it is a fresh breath of air to see these characters in this time and state. I wish in the future we could see this in live action, ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.

The great detective did not really do any detective work. It had so much potential to more but missed the mark. Not bad but expected more.

Ok I loved how this movie involves Jack the Ripper but you missed the opportunity to make ZSASZ Jack the Ripper. Zsasz mostly kills women, and Jack the Ripper also targets women also zsasz is a very interesting character and needs to be in more things. Anyways, I love this movie and how it sets in the 1900s.

Totally nails a steampunk Batman in a series of twists and turns that kept me hooked

This was a mature well written and done movie. One of the best Batman movies I've seen including live action. Lots of your favorite characters set in the Victorian era. A Batman trained by Sherlock and Houdini. A great Elsewords tale. And the main villian was a nice twist that you didn't see coming.
  • Loved the comic; the “Empowering for Womyn” bit lost me on the film.

Feminism has conquered all entertainment media and turned it into ideological propaganda. I’m so done with this.

I just read a review from someone damning this movie because it wasn’t suitable for children and that it was demeaning to women. This. Movie. Is. Rated. “R”. People! Learn to read ratings people! It’s a big logo right under the title!! Good grief!
